Choosing support is personal. A useful provider conversation should focus on the participant, the support goals, the practical setting and the safeguards needed for respectful support.
Questions to ask
- Which supports are being requested and why?
- Does the provider understand the participant's communication preferences and routines?
- How will worker suitability be discussed?
- How are feedback, concerns and changes handled?
Keep claims practical
Look for clear service information rather than broad promises. Support should be discussed around needs, location, timing and service arrangements.
